The Town Board of Henderson values collaboration and community involvement. We welcome residents to serve on the Community Development Commission, a group dedicated to restoring, revitalizing, and preserving the Harbor and Hamlet of Henderson.

What We Do
The Commission works with the Town Board to:
- Identify the Town’s restoration and preservation needs
- Develop and implement long-term community and economic development plans
- Coordinate initiatives from the Comprehensive Plan, revitalization projects, Pro-Housing programs, and Climate Smart Community initiatives
- Advise the Town Board on community development matters
- Collaborate with local organizations, including the Henderson Historical Society, Henderson Business & Community Council, Henderson Performing Arts, Henderson Community Improvement Group, and more
Membership & Meetings
- The Commission has nine voting members, including a mix of residents, up to two Town Board members, representatives from local committees or organizations, and business owners.
- All members are appointed by the Town Board in accordance with Local Law #46A.
- A quorum consists of at least five members.
- Meetings are typically held monthly, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Remote participation is available.
- All meetings are conducted in compliance with the Open Meetings Law, and minutes are maintained.
