The Henderson Men's Club was founded in 2014 with the mission of “giving back to the community.” Founding members included Clark Point residents Ric Leonard, Don Brandt and Chuck Seereiter. The club has a current membership of 25. Meetings are at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month, April through October, at the West View Lodge in Henderson Harbor. The club does not meet November through March.
The club's annual fund-raisers are:
Duck Race in Stony Creek on Memorial Day.
Pancake breakfast at the Henderson fire hall in August
Cabin Fever spaghetti supper at the Henderson fire hall in February.
The club's support of local organizations and activities has included:
Serving as road marshals and parking attendants for the annual ShelterBox Ride and Henderson Harbor Sprint Triathlon.
Weighing fish at Henderson Harbor fishing derbies.
Building dugouts for the Henderson youth baseball field.
Repairing and resetting old gravestones in Henderson cemeteries.
Providing two scholarships for graduating seniors at Belleville Henderson Central School.
Watering the hanging baskets of flowering plants in Henderson and Henderson Harbor.
Making financial gifts to the Henderson Harbor Performing Arts Association, Henderson Free Library, Henderson Historical Society and other organizations as need arises.
Purchasing two all-weather chairs for the town boat launch.
